If you have your finger on the pulse of the UK indie game dev scene, you must have heard of HaZ Dulull, the mastermind behind the studio Beyond The Pixels, and his debut game Astro Burn. If not, you’re in for a treat!
We’re excited to share that in addition to releasing the first title from the studio, HaZ and the team are also working on a Kickstarter campaign for a special physical edition of Astro Burn. More details will follow when the Kickstarter campaign launches, but to answer some questions you may be asking yourself, here’s some insight into Beyond the Pixels:
Love for a golden age of gaming inspired Beyond the Pixels founder HaZ Dulull and set him on course to create the upcoming Cute ‘Em Up title, Astro Burn. But the Super Famicom era wasn’t only about the games, it was the whole experience. From holding the box in your hands and delighting in an instruction manual packed with artwork, to blowing the dust off the cartridge, slotting it in and pressing start. The passion with which Beyond The Pixels cherishes retro gaming burns bright and expands to the physical form factor too. Beyond The Pixels believes in preservation and ownership, and it’s starting with Astro Burn.
The Astro Burn Kickstarter offers players a physical copy of the game that exists outside of digital platforms, and is as simple as plug ‘n’ play. No log in screens. Just the gamer and their game, exactly how it’s meant to be.
