With pre-orders opening today, gamers can choose between Digital Download which will be available from July 31, as well as physical Standard or Collector’s Editions, celebrating this epic space odyssey in style.
Earthion is a brand-new shooter, inspired by gaming’s golden age, where the SEGA® Genesis™ ruled supreme, home to the world’s best blasters. With eye-popping visuals, a blistering soundtrack by renowned composer Yuzo Koshiro (Streets of Rage, ActRaiser) and eight stages of white-hot, adrenaline-fueled gameplay, you’ll never believe what the 16-bit era was truly capable of until you sample Earthion’s out-of-this-world delights!
Launching physically on PC, PlayStation®4, PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo® Switch™, Limited Run Games will also be releasing Earthion in true, authentic 16-bit form, with a physical SEGA® Genesis™/Mega Drive™ cartridge to follow, expected later in 2026!
The 16-bit roots run deep with Earthion, offering PC and modern console gamers an option to configure scanline filters and options to replicate the feel of CRT TVs, while quality of life features such as online leaderboards for PC and console (SEGA Genesis excluded), multiple difficulty & Challenge modes, a classic Level Password system and handy Music Player cement the 16-bit origins of the title. Japanese developer Ancient Corporation has even included English, Japanese and Brazilian Portuguese versions of the game, as well as bonus playable demos and an early prototype of Earthion, giving fans a fascinating insight into the games’ development over the years.
